How does this work
As we have attracted a few members and followers, it might be useful to explain a bit how this present reading and commenting project works in practice.

The basic idea is simple: we are reading the Harry Potter books chapter by chapter, and then write our comments about the chapters, and then discuss the comments together. We are trying to set some deadlines for each chapter, shown at the top of the sidebar, but they have not been very strictly enforced so far. We hope to be able to complete the whole project before the Book 7 comes out :)

To keep the area organised, the posting of new entries is restricted to administrators (pan_alchemist and janus_incantus). However, commenting is free to all, so everybody is welcome to participate, either in the whole systematic reading project or just commenting our comments. By looking at the comments for the first few chapters, you should be able to figure out quite easily how it goes. Lurking is also perfectly fine.

I'm going to make another post for introductions and general chat in a few minutes, so you are welcome to let your consciousness flow there freely. There may be other 'general' category posts, polls and such a bit later.

We are still working on the finalisation and fine-tuning the layout and page structure, but there should be some sort of sidebar shortcuts, tables of contents etc. in place shortly.

Nice to see you all here!
