PS - Chapter 3 - The Letters from No One - Theriously
Could it have been something that the Dursleys have? I find a thought of a bewitched painting in their meticulously normal living room highly amusing. Or how about the infamous 'squeaky stair' on which I've seen a thread version #n in a certain HP related forum....
Is this a part of how he has been keeping an eye on Harry? (Dumbledore says to Harry, "... and I have watched you more closely than you can have imagined..." [OotP, The Lost Prophecy].) I am rather curious to know how Dumbledore had been watching Harry. We can rule out possessions, I think, because at this point, Harry didn't have anything that was his own.
